Have you ever tried looking in upon yourself (in a deep, introspective, soulful sense) *and* still had the prescience to handle much about the world outside the microcosm of your self? I, personally, haven't ever had a positive experience when looking in at myself - I just freeze. If there are any gods to know by looking inwards I'm not convinced that they are truly worthy of my attention.

"If you truly know yourself, you will know that the gods live within you. The Universe will open up to you if you take time to really know who you are and with the gods on your side, there are no limitations."
What is true today is not as true, or possibly even false, further along in time. If, acceding to the idea that gods live within, the fickle self that you truly know today is eventually going to become something else entirely - why should these gods be put upon a pedestal?
If these internal gods are as fickle as all that... then why should anyone assume they are allies, enemies, or even aware of us?
The Universe - as in the microcosm of the self - has always been open; does that mean that you won't break yourself if you decide that the limits don't apply?
